You can easily do up the rears yourself. Temporarily, for the front I just cut one coil off each front spring, until I could do it up right, just to level out the ride height. IMO 1 1/4 coils would be ideal.

I don't like the idea of cutting coils especially since I'm not gentle on the car when taking turns.

        • I've gotten hold of the 4/5 people who said they wanted a set. For sure 2 sets are spoken for and waiting on the response from 2 other people who have expressed interest multiple times. I will let everyone know if there are any sets available after I get responses back.

          • For sure I want one. How much would one cost?

ya and that's fine IF there was an indication when these sets were announced last year that they could be pre-ordered, reserved, claimed or whatever. maybe that was mentioned. i'd have to go back to the first post about them and read thru up to the present but i also was very interested in these and followed updates on their completion pretty closely hoping to be fortunate enough to catch the day that they were actually for sale and buy a set. sure, i was also tempted to pm the festiva store and offer to pay in advance but since this wasn't mentioned (as far as i recall) i didn't feel it would be fair to jump the line. if indeed most or all of these are presold then news or speculation of their availability shouldn't even be posted as general updates since the sales have now become a private transaction between the pm buyer and seller. otherwise it turns into a tease. Walmart may advertise 52" Sony big screen TVs for $200 but only after waiting in line all night do you find out they only have 1 at that price.
no sour grapes on my part. i think noname does a fine job and probably thankless profit wise but this deal turned a little hinky. i'll get coilovers from another source but put off ordering from that source hoping to get a reasonably priced set made to charlies excellent standards.

              • I'm looking at those front grills, and thinking of all the hassle & time it would take me to just get the single one I have looking decent.

Do you think there will be front and rear bumper covers anytime soon? The ones on my '90 I dread cleaning up and doing anything about.

It's on the car within 12 weeks or you're ousted from the forum.

I get that you're a bit frustrated about this, but I don't see that anyone has done anything wrong here. If someone is selling a car or a part, it's the usual courtesy by the seller and other members to give dibs to the first person expressing interest, until the prospective purchaser backs out or doesn't respond to the seller; at which point the seller lets us know the item is still for sale. Everyone had an equal opportunity to speak up; some just got there faster than others. Don't despair yet; one or two of these sets might end up being available after all. I'm sure Ben has a good idea, or could easily figure it out by going thru the posts, what the order is for who expressed interest and when.

Also bear in mind that four or five sets of these cost a pretty fair amount, and Ben would not like to be stuck with unsold, or slowly sold, inventory. People showing serious interest early gives him reassurance that this very likely will not happen, which is good for all of us, as far as him staying in the business. Especially for the high-dollar items, people's dreams are often bigger than their wallets. Ask Matt D.

Dreams bigger then a motor swap. poor Matt. His intentions were so well.

                      • Anyway. It's not the end of the world.
Surely if there's enough interest it's just a matter of organising a new batch, take pre-payment for them as insurance that the buyers are serious, and have them made to order.

Now it's time for my 2 cents LoL!
I agree that high value items such as these should not be a stocked on the shelves, but made to order.

It's easy to see that the profit levels are merely to keep the hobby going, so we need to unite the festiva family and support Ben with his quest. Most have seen what happened with fms (I've only heard of it because it was before my time), let's treat what Ben is doing as a cooperative venture from which we can all benefit.

Simply put. If there's a festiva part I need and it's available here, I'm buying it here. Even if I have to pay postage all the way to australia.

And might I add. If you have access to any limited edition or rare parts that the family could borrow, buy, or hire in order to make duplicates for the store, please please please put your hand up, and help take this to the next level!

Think of it this way. The more eye catching festivas that are out there, the more they will be appreciated, and the less chance of remaining ones going to scrap as easily as they are currently.

                        Win win

My brand of communism would enforce public interpretative dance as a form of conflict resolution.

I think that would prevent a lot of conflicts.

For conflict resolution, up to and including war between countries, I propose all fighting be done with marshmallow guns.
