what is an oem factory flip up moon, sunroof worth?

  • #2
I don't have a clue what it's worth, I didn't even know that Aspires were ever offered a sunroof as an option. Is it currently installed in an Aspire?

Shipping would be the main obstacle. Can't imagine it would be cheap.

not that it would make much diff but i've seen a lot of flip up festiva sunroofs that weren't the OEM ford dealer sunroof. might've been an aftermarket piece similar in size. a good tip off that it's fords would be the exterior finishing caps where the hinges and latch are mounted to the glass. OEM would be round. aftermarket caps are usually square/rectangular. the OEM kit would also have a finishing trim piece inside that matches the color of the headliner. a wind deflector was available but not sure if it was part of the kit or an accessory to the accessory. also something to consider is if hinges and latch are broken since generally replacement parts are not available. a real score would be the storage bag that was offered as an accessory to store the glass in if it was removed.
removal will have to be done carefully since if it was installed correctly there will be adhesive butyl under the trim ring and it might be impossible to remove the interior finishing headliner trim without destroying it.
sure, $100 is fair if all hardware is there, glass is good and latch/hinges work.
