I'm planning on driving my Festiva to Wasilla next summer - if everything goes as planned.

The only time THAT long of a drive IS practical, is in a Festiva

To the best of my knowledge, Wasilla isn't much more than a commercial strip along the Parks Hwy (Alaska SR #1 of only 10). GoogleEarth calls it 66 hours each way from STL.

I drove this same Festy from ANC out to Tok (where the "Tok Cutoff" branches off down to Anchorage) one January -- right after I bought the car off CL for $100 -- with temps in the mid minus 30Fs. The poor little Festy engine couldn't even keep itself warm, let along contribute anything to the passenger cabin.

I'm sure there is a thread on here for the longest trip made in a festiva; I'll actually be leaving from Indianapolis and I'll have to be in the top rankings - if that thread does exist.
