  • Staying in the Mental Festiva game.

I've been feeling down about this. I've been searching high and low since last spring for the perfect Festiva for me. I've came across several cars I loved, made offers, even had contracts almost signed. It happened again this week. Had plans to meet this morning because the person was only available weekends. Come to find out they sold the car friday and didn't have the decency to let me know before I made a 6 hours drive to pick it up. I've came across more expired ads than I care to comment on. I just want to know how you guys keep yourself motivated. When buying that first or next Festiva did it takes weeks, months and God forbid years to find it? I am finding this relentless search tiring and consuming me lol I find myself sneaking to the bathroom at work to check my phone just to make sure there wasn't a new craigslist posting I might have missed. Is this what being a Festiva crazed fanatic is about? Just need some encouragement and I know this is the right place for it.

I don't know where you are located but this has been on Craigslist for a while and still see it on there. I have a festiva I am comfortable with but always check daily to see if there is one for parts or anything like that. It took me a couple months to find mine and at the time it was the only one I was finding so I just took it because I didn't know when I would find another one. Keep looking and you'll find what you're looking for!

Yes. Trust me they are out there. You just have to be relentless and patient. Obviously you re willing to spend so be ready to do so, HURRIEDLY. Be willing to travel a few states on a whim. Have a truck and trailer ready and/or a driving buddy on call. Try and make a deposit in some way and by all means make contact with the person as you are leaving to meet them, as a final measure to secure the initial deal. Don't wait a week to go get it. Call off work if necessary. Don't mess around any more

There are nice cars out there grasshopper!!! Patience...

That red one. He keeps putting up ads because nobody wants to buy it. In one of them he said "this isn't a junk yard car so don't expect a junk yard price"

Sometimes you just get lucky, others you gotta search and be very patient

Here's a little story for ya, I've barely driven my festiva in the passed two years, I keep having problems with it to the point that I got so incredibly frustrated that I actually considered giving up and selling it.... Instead I just took a break from it to regain motivation

Maybe that's all you need, to take a break from your search?

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

I guess the reason I hadn't it because, I'm afraid I will end up missing something I like. I'm barely missing stuff now. And I'm doing all I can. I guess I'm coming across the wrong people. Like the last one I replied to the ad within 15 minutes of it being posted, agreed on meeting saturday morning at 9. And she sold it to someone local after agreeing with me. Oh well :/

Hang in there, man! It will show itself! I had to drive to Texas, from Missouri to get that GL. Don't know if you read my thread about it, but here is what I had to do to get it.
