Welcome to the forum George... I will take a look at this one and let you know what I find out.
If it turn out to be a gem and you can't get it I may just buy it myself.

This one looks like a really good deal.
From the pictures of the seats it appears to be an LX and although the ad doesn't say it has AC, it most likely does.
I called about it but the person who owns it is out of town and will not be able to show it until Monday.
I left a message telling him I was very interested and would like to see it.

Looks in good shape but, I don't have the time off work to drive 12 hours for a car. When I do make a move on one, would someone be interested in meeting me halfway from the warm east coast states? I would gladly pay cash for a delivery fee for someone to meet me in Ohio with a rust free car...

Just got a message from the guy... it has AC but it is not currently working (probably easy fix). And I might be able to drive it to my son's home in Louisville, KY and meet you there if this
one turns out to be a gem.

I will post further details after I see the car.

Is this the car in Ft. Wayne? I appreciate it but, it will be closer to me now than Louisville. Its going to be a couple weeks before i pull the trigger on a car. I have to sell a full size truck first... =D

This car is in Hanahan, SC (about 15 miles from my home in Charleston, SC).
It's OK... I understand you have to sell your truck. If the car is rust free and in great condition I'll just buy it myself and sell it later.

This must be the one in Ft Wayne that was originally from SC.

$1800 more but look like a nice one with lots of upgrades.

You two fellas should have come to the Carlyle meet, plenty of parts networking going on, no one makes patch panels so you need to make friends with our members in the southern states, they could cut out what you need and sent it to you.

I went to see the the Red 89 Automatic in Hanahan this afternoon. There was someone else there to see it at
the same time I was. It is rust free, engine runs really great, has minimal oil leak, transmission shifts good.
It's and L that has had Escort seats installed in front. Front and rear seats were really nice.
The interior is in fairly good shape. and no broken glass. Just a few minor dents in her.
Wheel bearing and rack and CV axles appeared to be good, struts and shocks good and it has a set of decent Yokahoma tire on the nice allow wheels.
There were several new parts including master cylinder and other brake parts that came with it.
Also extra front cornering light (the ones on it were spider webbed.)
I was well the $1000 asking price. The other person who came to see it was there from outside Columbia (about 100 miles away).
She said that her husband had a couple of Festivas (both out of commission now.. one with over 500,000 mile on it). He had
used them on a paper route. Even though I had contacted the seller first, the lady needed this one for continued use on the paper route, so while she and her son were test driving it
I told the owner that if they agreed to his asking price, I would have no objection to him selling it to them.
They returned shortly and bought the car... So this Festiva will remain in SC for a while longer.

Regarding finding panels from southern cars for rust repair. There hasn't be a Festiva at the local LKQ for about a year now. Prices of decent rust free Festivas can only go up from now on.

Aspire SVT, I understand but don't wait for a meet next year, I heard rumor Festiva Fred will be putting on another Herman meet and rumor has it, there might be a another Carlyle meet this year. So stay tuned.
