  • Kia Pride Pop 1.3 | From Uruguay

    Hi people!

I'm Facundo, from Uruguay, and i've recently bought a 1999 Kia Pride Pop as my daily driver. I had one with de 1.1 carb engine some years ago, and when I needed again a reliable and economic car I decided to return to the Pride. By that time I was working for Kia Motors Uruguay, so I find that 1.3 carb with just 110.000 km in the odometer and fully original.

The only modification im planning is changing the 12' rims to the 13' from the Festiva, and a little bit thicker tires. I have another car for fun (an Italian 1968 Fiat 125S), so the Kia will be in charge of taking me to work everyday.

    Hope u like it!

        Welcome Aboard!!!
Now, hows the parts situation there?
Is it easy to get parts, any after market parts?
If it don't fit, use a bigger hammer!

Check with fourgreen.com threads for brand new original parts.

I cant believe they made this till 99+ while here they pulled the plug in 93 in north america.

It was made in Dic. 1999, but sold to the first owner (i'm the second) in Jan. 2001!

For you to have an idea, in Uruguay, two months ago, i bought this car for U$S 6.100... we have near the most expensive cars in the world here!

Do your windows have factory tinted glass?

A Mazda 1.6L B6 engine from a 323 will fit your Pride directly.

Welcome, that's a sharp Pride. So I assume EFI was never offered on the Prides in Uruguay?

The 1.3 is correct for the everyday use, i will leave it STD... by now

Thanks! EFI was offered in the Beta (saloon), the Wagon and the GLXi version (with bodycolour bumpers, A/A, power steering and power windows)

I had the 1.1 before, and it was carb too

Power windows and power steering equipment is ultra rare and its worth quite some money, if you find that stuff laying around , sell it here !
