  • restoring a very abused festy

So I'm at work and a little red festival is on the back of a customers flat bed. I ask him what he's gonna do with it and he said scrap it. So I paid him scrap yard cost. And strangely enough he had the title. Even more strange. . I DROVE IT HOME. I figured I'd get a parts car at best. The body is in the worst shape ( that is still rust free) that I have seen, and even though it runs, it runs pretty rough. So... Resto time.

Motor pulled waiting on parts. So taking car of the beaten body for now. I'll post pics of what I accomplish today tomorrow.

Woah. I just started learning body work, and I'm already tired of it, but "unfortunately" my mentor tells me I "have the gift".

Looks like lots of "fun" there.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

Haha yeah working a slide hammer now. Had to take a break for a second. I will at least get that tail light dent today and probably start filling it.

Couldn't help myself. So I called the guy I bought it from and asked what happened to it. His son used it as a mud toy.... I can't help but wonder, Why?

Probably went about 15 ft in the mud.

My dad and brother are taking care of the motor. It has a cracked exhaust valve and spark plugs that shouldn't fire anymore One of which was stripped out in the head.. Decided to do a total rebuild. But all in all she is fixable.

Crap.... Further clean of the head shown a hairline fracture between the valves looks like I'm going to need a head...
