I too watch the trip not the gas gauge...mainly cause mine "floats" back and forth alot even when full it still shows 3/4 to full depending on how many left and right turns u do lol! Anyway the cold seems to hit my festy pretty good (89 weber 81 escort carbed) so i have done alot of blocking the radiator and ran a piece of flex duct from air breather to exhaust manifold to catch warm air into intake...this has helped...keeps it around 42 to 45 during winter time...without i will only get 35 to 36...engine just cant get warmed up enough and with a non adjusting carb just nature of the beast i suppose...just my 2 cents

The Steve, 89 L, 93 b3, 81 escort carbed, 5 spd now, metro 13s, 88 323 exh mani, very comfy Suzuki forenza front seats...47 mpg as long as it is above 40°! LOL!

I ran out of gas in my festiva on our honeymoon in basically the middle of nowhere because i thought there was no way i was that low on gas and didnt believe my gauge. But apparently driving slowly up mountain trails used more gas than i anticipated....
