I just bought new ones from eBay. And Dorman makes the plug so you can also replace those.

Mine are still fine on the old 96. Once a year or so I give 'em a good SOS soap padding. That has also done wonders on others- I find the clouding is mostly accumulated gunk.

Do you still remember December's foggy freeze?

I dont know how expensive new ones are, but If your willing to take the time and spend the money what worked great for me on a different car with very cloudy headlamps was this: oh, it doesnt work if they are fogged up with water inside. Thats a different problem. Is there condensation inside the lamps or just oxidation on the outside? This only works for oxidation: remove headlamps. Buy 600 and 800 grit wet sandpaper. Soak them for 10 minutes. While they are soaking clean the headlamps with soap and water and rubbing alcohol. then start sandin with 600 grit under running water from a tap in a sink. Have the bulb still installed so you dont get water inside. Sand and sand till it looks super clear under running water. Dry it off and check if there is anything else you want to sand out. If not then sand with 800grit. With the 800 your only taking out the 600grit scratches. Once you think their gone dry it off super good. Tape and mask off what you dont want paint on. Then take preferably a 2 component clear coat and spray the headlamps. I paid $30 for a 2k spray can from an autobody shop. I did 3 coats, waited an hour and then stuck them in an oven at 120f overnight. Good to go the next day. Super hard and lots of UV protection. Its ultraviolet light that oxidizes them. If you use a cheaper 1k clear it will still work just fine, try to get a more autobody type rather than home depo rustolium... The main difference is it will take longer to dry and be less durable from rocks. I also bought 3m heatlight tape and installed that overtop of the clearcoat, that may be overkill but i think it will deflect rocks better. It cost me a total of $28 for the sandpaper and paint, $60 for the headlight tape that did 4 headlights and i still have some left over.

Plastic Headlamps come with a UV protective coating. Over the years it degrades, rock chips penetrate the coating and oxidation spreads untill their cloudy. Sanding and polishing them works but it removes the UV coating and does not replace it. If you just sand and polish like with toothpaste or sos pads or any polish kit you will have to do it again in a year. Thats because there is still no uv protection. Automotive clear coat weather its 1k or 2k has uv protection and will prevent the oxidation until it chips or wears through.

My solution was to just buy a new set of headlight assemblies. It was maybe $100 and made a large difference at night.

Next help was getting the Silverstone bulbs one notch above oem. not the super bright ones.

The hardest part of new headlight assemblies is re aiming them.
              Running 40psi.....in my tires.

$100 for 2? Thats real cheap and a better solution than fixing them for sure! Where did you get them from? I did what i said to my civic because they were $200 each new. So i spent $100 and 3 hours instead of $400 and 1 hour. Brighter headlights make a huge difference but it is very, very important to aim lights after installing new ones or even new bulbs.
