  • Should I sell my BP Festiva?

    Hey guys,
I recently had an accident which has resulted in a considerable amount of medical bills, which I can take care of, but which does have me considering whittling down my expenses.

My Festiva is making creaking sounds when turning hard and I'm thinking the fact that my steering rack boot came off a while back may mean it's time to work on a Rio swap...

But, I have no shop, no lift, no extra cash for parts, and since I separated my shoulder the prospect of laying on my back in the driveway just doesn't seem wise or realistic.

I also wonder what a BP swapped SMF autocrosser Festy is worth - I have the build list from when I bought it 2 years ago here:

    Suspension:
Aspire front and rear control arms and rear hoop
    EBC Green Stuff Pads
    EBC front Rotors
    Goodrich EGT lines
    KYB GR2 fronts, Mazda 323 GR2 rears
Aspire Front Springs: 175lbs Rear Springs: 135lbs

Battery Box in the rear, Moroso setup

    Tranny: Mazda E Series
New half Shafts, New Shift Forks, Output Seals

Engine: Hot Tank, Chem Cleaned, Honed with TRW Chromo Piston Rings, KING bearings, 10 under. Decked 1MM. Full rebuild on the head. New Oil Pump, New Water Pump, New Timing Kit. Full FelPro Gasket kit. Bhanoff Organic Clutch, resurfaced flywheel. 'Festiva' New Cap, Rotor, Coolant flush. New Fuel Pump and relays. EGT ECU.

15x7" Drag wheels with 195/50 Hankook Ventus RS3

So where are you and what sort of price do you want for it? Is it licensed for the street?

Send me a PM if you want. Doug

Good questions! I am in Durango, Colorado currently.

Yup it's tagged titled and registered. No idea on price, not sure really what it's worth. Fairly sure I spent too much on it but it's been fun

Most of your suspension work is considered "obsolete" by pretty much everyone building up a festy at this point.
What do you mean by "Aspire front and rear control arms and rear hoop"
Is it still on stock brakes?

Either way, the body looks to be really clean and would be a good base for a buildup. I could see you pulling at least $1500.

Well considering I was asking what it's worth I don't have a price.

And yes I know it's not the Advanced Dynamix suspension, but it has put me in a decently competitive position in autocross, so it can't be that bad.. Not sure what the builder meant either, that was copied and pasted from our conversation.

At least 1500?? That doesn't even cover what I've put into it - let alone the purchase price.
