I dug up this pic of my 5th festiva circa 1997. 93 EFI 5 speed. Factory tach cluster and power mirrors. 1981 or so Toyota Corolla steel wheels. Factory red paint with Krylon Flat Black Stripes. A couple of years after this pic was taken, while being A.D.D. and listening to my song A.D.D., I rearended a Pontiac Montana and Creamed the teeth. 193,000 RIP

When I was driving this one I was delivering for "steaks to go" in Murfreesboro, TN. I had more fun interactions with people than I could even recall about the teeth. About the steaks I was delivering, about the car eating them, their dog etc. Better tips too. I guess that's just the artist/musician/original thinker in me. This is the festiva that pulled out the fullsize king cab chevy truck out of the mud. There are many ways to enjoy a festiva. If you need to "fall in line" should you even be driving a festiva?

 You're questioning if I should be driving a Festiva? You've got to be joking... You do know that I created this board, own this website, own 6 Festivas and have given you the privelage of being here right? If anyone is entitled to say that teeth on a Festiva looks rediculous, it's me..

I know you created this board. It's awesome and I appreciate the fun posts, and the parts and knowlege swapping.
You know I've owned 14 festivas and have been driving them since 91. How do you expect someone to respond when you call them retarded? My point was it takes a unique person to tolerate the general down your nose looks people give when you drive a festiva. Therefore a unique approach to the style of a festiva is cool. Sure you can say it's retarded (even that I'm crazy), but you also should be able to take a civil retort.

It's a personal opinion, I think, and one that I share. But it's not just Festivas. It's all cars that are made to look goofy. Like, the Mercedes covered in glitterpaint, the oldschools on 28's (and I'm black and 27 and I hate it), the cars with teeth painted on them and stuff, the hippie cars, etc, etc. I hate all of those vehicles and I reserve the right to say that the car is retarded.

But it's not my car, in the end. It's yours, or his, or hers. And you can do what you want with it, whether it's retarded or not.

I mean, I like "ricers" when they are done correctly, with the performance to back the wing and kit. I betcha you plenty of folks here think that that's "retarded".

I still think they look retarded.. But as Venomz said.. "I hate all cars made to look goofy" We have art car shows done here every year.. I hate the look of every last one of them.. they look retarded. But, that's my opinion.. and I said the car looks retarded and everyone that looks at you driving it would think you have a screw loose.. I didn't say you were retarded.. I've been told that I should lighten up, but I won't because we already have people dissing the cars off the factory floor... why give them more ammo? And believe me teeth in the front.. is BIG AMMO!!

Big ammo for people who need to lighten up? That's ok though. If it wasn't for regular people us artists wouldn't be unique and cool (in my mind). I too have a chip on my festiva shoulder. People can diss them off of the showroom floor all they want. I don't need people's approval when I know the festiva is the coolest and best car ever. I just climb a 4 wheeler trail past the 4x4 toyotas (another true story) and outrun lots of vehichles that drop their jaw when I tell them it's stock and has 67 horsepower and 200,000 original miles. Jerk the fullsize chevy out of the mud. I have convinced lots of people of the festiva's greatness. I'm finally working on a festiva song. I sing the praises of the mighty underappreciated overachiever!
