it is my cheap way to fly. I would have to spend close to 5k+ to get the same hp n/a out my 306.It was between it and a 2JZ motor but the GM one is muchstrait forward, and I am getting the swap cheap. I still feel left out on the pinto, always wanted one slammed with 17's and a 2.3tc swap in it. I had a 87 4x4 ranger with one running 16psi and it was plain dangerous. I didnt do that swap. Kinda awesome to have the insite of this post to see just were everyones backgrounds are from.

stock trim it rated at 345hp and 385lb tq. So i throw a car cam and intake on it should be @ 360hp and 405lb tq. I cant wait to get a mate set of the l92heads and l76 intake

Other than my festiva b6 swap I've done a Beta 2.0 Hyundai Accent, motor from the elantra/tiburon. I've done L20 in a datsun tuck (72). 454 in a chevelle. 350/305 in a couple of camaros. Couple of b16/d15b/ZC honda swaps. And back in the day I had a go cart retrofited with a 30HP slowblower engine....ah those were the days

I think you are underestimating the HP# with that combo .
That 6.2 Escalade head is perfect for that app.(L92) on the 6.0 block
the right cam
And the same 6.2 intake L76 , flows better that the LS6, which you prolly already know .
500+ HP and 490+TQ is closer

My first swap was a long time ago in the army. A Ford 2.8 V6 and auto trans into a half track. Our battalion had a halftrack on display and there was a parade coming up and they wanted it drivable. We went to the German scrap yard and got a 2.8 from a rwd Ford. Did the swap and the thing actually moved. The problem was that we mounted the home made shifter to the floor and the engine moved enough that it shifted into park while moving and broke the trans tail housing. We installed another trans, fixed the shifter and drove it in the parade.

Then 16 years later the BP and BPT swap.

I helped my dad swap a 390 into his 76 f-150 when I was 9 (not much help :wink: ) , and we swapped a bad 1.3 out and a good 1.3 into my 3rd festiva back in the day. I've dropped 3 1.3's by myself, but never installed anything by myself. Glad dad is in on the bpt projects.

we aren't going to dump serious money into them. I just plan to look to Matt and others here for some fabbing and technical support. We aren't going all out on cams and high dollar pistons. We also won't overdrive the turbos. I think a non turbo bp would be really fun, so a turbo not maxed out will suit me fine. I'm not gunnin for mextivas time or anything. As long as it's pretty fast I'll be tickled. Dad might think differently though. His 85 turbo coupe came w/o an intercooler. He added that and boosted the turbo. It was vicious. He wants more though! :twisted: So he may wind up builing the crap out of it. If he does and it holds together I'll follow his lead. :headbang:
