  • RPM at MPH

    I have a 88 4speed without a tach.
I was wondering if someone could tell me what RPM the motor is turning at 55mph, 65mph and 70mph in 4th gear.

    Thanks
    ~Jeff

Not real sure if this will help Jeff , but here was one at 5:45 am , and one when I got off at 3 PM .

            remember this is a 5 speed .
This video on top worked after I downloaded it ?? now it will not play, click the pic to the right , if it does not play >>

Yes you can hear the speedo cable in this one , it was 15 degrees , and it only does it for a mile or so .

15 degrees and you didn't even let it warm up? jk. 10 minutes of warming up and mine reads like it was just started.

                Doug, that was awesome

I wasn't looking for maxed out numbers though.

Since mine doesn't have a tach, I was just wondering what the RPMs were at different highway speeds in 4th gear.

okay, on my way to work today i left my car fourth to get some numbers for ya, hopefully this is what you're looking for

                        45MPH @ 2400rpm
                        50MPH @ 2700rpm
                        55MPH @ 2900rpm
                        60MPH @ 3200rpm
                        65MPH @ 3500rpm
                        70MPH @ 3750rpm
                        75MPH @ 4000rpm
                        80MPH @ 4300rpm

now keep in mind my speedo is in KPH and i was looking at the small numbers for MPH and trying to watch the road and see my tach at the same time so the speed @ rpm's might be a hair off but it should be very close

by the way i got my stock 12 inch tires on the car too

Damkid, THANK YOU! , thats just what I was looking for. 80? - you went above and beyond the call of duty.

Packrat, I like the Camaro burnout vids.
Being the Chevy guy you are, what about taking the drivetrain out of the new 305hp Impala's and putting in the rear of a Festy?

It is a small enough package to fit , but I am not sure what kind of suspension to fab for it , to make it work from a FWD to a RWD set up .

How about a AWD set up from a SS Trailblazer 396 hp . OH YEAH
