      Go cheap when the part isn't critical and is easy to replace.

      Shifters are pretty critical, IMO. Especially if you are a long way from home, or have to get somewhere important.

            I used a genuine GSR shifter and it works just fine :-)

                I took my eBay short shifter to the bench vise tonight to do a stress test before install. All I have to say is that it took way too little force to break the shifter. I sure am glad that I did not install this POS. A BIG Thanks to Ian for the warning to us all. Anyone have better luck with the steel shifters offered on ebay?

                  It's a $10 shifter, what do you expect. Take it to the metal recycler and get your money back!
