Not drag strip but actual road track and autocross. If all goes well with the trade offer i have now for the porsche, I will be turning the festiva into a track car. Its going to be about a year or so build. Going to make a full custom suspension including a independent rear end, custom front end with custom sway bars, going to strip out the interior and creat a custom dash. areo dynamic work is going to be done with lowering the car, custom under body work, front bumper and rear bumper modification work, flared fenders for a wider tire, maybe a oem factory wing, fuel cell.
Should be a fun project but and not worth it at all. I am going to try to keep the project at minimum cost but building most of my parts (which i would have to do any ways). I am going to see what i can do for brakes, seeing if a brake company can make some thing or if i have to buy a kit off of another car and build brackets (not to hard really..) The rear end will be the hardest part because i am going to build a pure independent rear end so a lot of fab work and a lot of welding, but imagine a festiva that actually handles!!
I of coarse will not fall into any category for SCCA or pretty much any racing group but I will be able to compete to get my SCCA race license and still be able to do track days, DE days, and auto crosses.
Any thoughts?
Keep in mind that i am not looking to spend more than 1000$... Just gotta find a way to get bigger performance brakes for cheap... i was thinking gt3 big reds  ... ok not really
