Pros: carry huge stuff, durability (300,000 miles on average), inexpensive on gas maintenence, tires, INSURANCE. I've had one axle come out in 15 festivas and it was because I wrecked it.
Cons: clueless dorks point and laugh... oh wait that's a pro.

Pros: Great gas mileage, Good hauling capabilities, easily parked (just about anywhere), Fun car to drive, Easy to work on.
Great support site (FordFestiva.com), Easily modified for more performance.
Cons: No cup holders and I wish it had airbags.
Not sure whether this is a pro or con - But once you own one, you start to appreciate them and this could lead to more of them in your driveway (This has been a difficult issue for me, so many Festivas, so liitle driveway space - Ha ha)

Oh there are a few cons:

Heater only blows through defrost and foot vents..

Upper door frames flap at 100mph

Wipers don't work to well at those speeds either..

Yep - Forgot the Goofy thing with the heater - I have gotten used to it, but at first I thought something was wrong (until I discovered it is all mechanical. - But that can be a Pro item - No vacuum servos in the heater control. It is hell when a vacuum servo fails -$$$.)
My upper door frames is a Pro feature also, when it starts to flap I know I'm over a hundred and need to slow down, which brings to mind a con I forgot - 85 mph speedometer. It is hard to keep these cars under 85 on the highway, so they should have been equipped with better speedo's - LOL!

                    Pros:

                    What everyone else said
They are excellent in the snow ( don't think that was mentioned)
In the long run you can drive them free with savings over other cars.
                    They are babe magnets
                    Festivas make you happy

                    Cons:

Some parts are getting harder to replace
                    Dependency / addiction
You cant buy a new one

I agree the heaters needs to come out the dash, and I can verify that the wiper blades start hopping at around 110, but I heard that 88-89 festivas have good doors that don't flap. I got that info from a guy that came and bought doors off of an 89 I parted out to put on his 90-3 car. p.s. cutting the fresh air off (to the recirculate) will stop the doors from flapping.
