So the engine and tranny weight the same as 3 large bags of dog food!
At 150 lbs you wouldn't need a engine hoist!
Sounds like another you can "pass emissions but your cat. could still be clogging up" with no explanation as to how!
Try 300 to 350 lbs for engine/tranny combination.
The tranny it self is probably 60 -75 lbs maybe more.
Anyone have a better estimate than that?
I thought someone weighed the engine at one time!'93 Blue 5spd 230K(down for clutch and overall maintanence)

I could be talked into a combined weight of 300 lbs meaning with the 63 hp we get out of the unaltered B3.
We get a little less than 5 lbs per HP which seems reasonable!'93 Blue 5spd 230K(down for clutch and overall maintanence)

I had a heck of a time wrestling an engine/tranny down the ramps off my utility trailer by myself. I'm not thinking it's real light... I certainly couldn't pick up the motor!!1986 Comp Prep SVO Mustang(1 of 83) Four cylinder turbo! (Think first Fox body "R" model!)

I believe I remember someone who took apart their Festiva and put it in the back of their truck said they got it down to 850 lbs... That was with everything stripped (windows, all interior pieces, bumpers and supports, hood, fenders, etc...) - I believe they even took the brakes off... But put that stuff back in and you'd probably still be around 1000 lbs all together?
Wouldn't be very fun to drive like that thought.Simon - pimptiva.com

240 and 45 sounds best(ish)
the engine can be lifted off the ground or slung into a pickup bed manually, and the trans can definitly be tossed over an average chain link fence
But what difference does it make? And do none of us own a scale?
the title on my 90 festiva reads 1640 empty, my 92 reads 1789 empty - were there come up with the difference is a mystery
