Cinderblocks with 2 by 4s on top to keep from scratching/ denting here. Never, never work under a car that is held up only by a jack. Actually been to a funeral this year for a guy who was doing that.

But the 2x4's on top of the block (if you don't have proper jacks) should be to spread the load of the jack point edge (denting is secondary). I have seen the edge cut into a cinder block and once a notch is made (stress concentrator) the block can proceed to crack and crumble!
Now a concrete block is different, a lot heavier too, but more durable from a compressive load stand point!
Anyway just be safe!'93 Blue 5spd 230K(down for clutch and overall maintanence)

^^ I use solid cinder blocks that weigh just about as much as the car. Not as much worried about damaging the blocks as I am about damaging my car. Or myself. :!:

Man Fresh...I am not not sure about the front to back movement on that....does not look too sturdy.....unless you have the brakes set...then I guess it can't roll...lol"FLTG4LIFE" @FINALLEVEL , "PBH"
