  • Need ignition cylinder lock and key

The key for my 1991 Fevstiva L is starting to hang up in the locked position. Autozone, Napa, Car Quest, locally do not have one and cannot find one. Rockauto does not have one. Any ideas where I can find one?

    Thanks,
    Art

Yes. It is not "sticky" rather the cylinder is worn badly and jams in the "locked" position. Wiggling the key vigorously unlocks it, but I know it is just a matter of time before it is so worn that this will not work either.

Just need more ideas for a supplier to get the part from. Installing it is no problem

Try Festiva Motorsport, they did carry new locks at one time. Or try a want add on the site here for a good used set.

^ X 2, and you might try to get a new key cut from an good original key if you have one. Just an easier/cheaper thought.

I believe I tried that one kzbill. That was the wrong one. I went into a napa, and a guy pulled out a book, and I found one that looked very similar to ours, if not exact. The only problem for me at the time was that is was over $100....i think $120. I had to find one from ebay to get me going again, but if I hadn't I would have certainly tried the $120 one from napa. Zfestiva, get a picture of your ignition lock cylinder before you go to Napa if you are going to go that route just to save you some hassle.

Come on kzbill...do you think it would be that easy for us festy owners heheheheeh. They have to make everything difficult for us. LOL
By the way, what part of Wisconsin are you from??

Most experience locksmiths can cut a key without a original key, but just off of the cylinder itself.

Sorry, it looked like a ford lock cylinder
the link above should, I hope, take you to the page and you can look at it for me. I haven't had to replace mine so I am not sure.
yes it is hard to find parts, I agree. But I recently found a Denso fuel pump relay from a major for 29.99 + ship thats a 75$ relay everywhere else.
Google map 53050 I am 2 mi. south of town. (Mayville) 45 mi. north by northwest of Milw.

Doesn't look like the same lock to me. May want to try looking for a Mazda or KIA lock.
