Wow...something wasnt right with the re-install...mostlikely in the bearing area....A lost or damged seal...not enough grease...dirty grease...to much torque...not enough torque... spindle nut not crimped....anyway...all need to replaced: Seals/Inner Bearings/Outer Bearings/ Spindle Nuts; The washer can most likely be salvaged.

Most likely all of the internal brake components can be cleaned and salvaged.

You need to make sure that the e-brake was not over adjusted thus causing the wheel to over heat and causing the lube to fail...you will be able t determine this by looking at the inside of the drum and the conditions of the pads.

Start by looking for a dust cap.....not easily found thru retail outlets

I'd happily do all that if only the drum would come off.

I'm thinking of putting the wheel back on and chaining it to another car to pull it off. I need something like a steering wheel puller, I guess. I even tried loosening the axle nut a bit and zigzag-ing at 25mph. It didn't budge.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

^^ does the wheel spin?...if so...go for it...be careful not to pull it off the jacks which will definetly happen!

If the wheel does not spin...you have to reach in from behind the drum and loosen the adjuster.

Also, sorry to say, if your bearings are siezed..........be creative

                Yes, the wheel spins wonderfully.

I wound some 1/4" steel cable through the rim and fastened it to my Neon.

Pulled the Festy right off the stand, and the bearing nor the wheel would budge. I'm gonna load the back end with concrete blocks to keep it in place and try it again.

It was kinda funny, cause there was a guy walking down the road at the very time the Festy went flying. He thought I was nuts. He's right, but I'm gonna get that thing off if it kills me, and it might depending on where it flies when it finally does break loose.

sounds like the bearing is seized, replace the whole spindle assembly, but, the 4 bolts that hold it on are splined, and CANNOT be turned to remove, they must be beaten out.........Had this happen twice before I realized the shock was bad, breaking the bearings....

the 4 bolts have nuts on the back of them. If you remove the nuts (no pun intended) the spindle will come right off.
                      no reason to beat.

No offense, but a very much respected mechanic told me to keep trying, so, uh, I'm gonna.

                              Failure.

I loaded the back up to the roof with blocks and I still pulled it off the stand. And, still, the drum will not budge.

                              Time for a torch.

Hey now.....this will take less than 20 minutes. Get a dremmel tool with a cut off wheel. Sit on you butt in front of the spindle and cut the face of the outer bearing in two places 180 degrees apart along the horizontal, 3 or 4 places evenly spaced is even better. Try not to nick the spindle...if you do just buff off any burrs. a scar won't hurt but changing the diameter will.

Once the cuts are completed...use a pry-driver (beater screwdriver) and hammer to work the race out...tis ain't gona happin in 2 minutes...take your time and don't let fustration set in. This is a great example where slower is faster.
