i just rebuilt my motor on my 93 egt i just redid the rings and i lubed everything and then torqued my rod bolts down to 35 ft/lbs and tried to rotate it and with all my weight on it i can just barely turn it. is it suppose to be that way? btw i just honed it so im thinking that is why its that hard. also dose anyone know if 35ft/lbs on the connecting rod bolts, it was impossable to find in the manual and im not shure if that is even the right thing i was looking at

Stop.......I would double check the clearances, it shouldn't be that hard to turn. something is binding.
What is your definition os "rebuilt".
    Pistons?
    Did you go over sized?
    Crank polish or grind?
How did you hone the cylinders?
What piston clearance do you have?
Did you plasti-guage the rod and main journals?
    Is the head on?
    lots of questions, yes?
I did a search of the site and came up with this:

KZ...great set of question and....Did you take the crank out?

Whenever the crank or c'rods are pulled...the bearing caps must go back exactly as they are taken out...they can not be interchanged.
The connecting rod has and orientation based on the oil hole (someone please help, and can someone look up the torque spec.)
Pistons should always go back in their respective cylinder.

The first or second turn...never any more could be difficult...but not like your describing.

Also...it isn't untypical for wrist pins to get really tight after sitting aroung fo a cuple of days...I've seen a lot of rebuilds where the piston sit in a bucket of oil until they are cleaned/reinstalled.

got it all sorted out... it turns out you can only put the conecting rod bottom caps (forgot what they are called) on one way so the where binding on the crank :x but i got it all going smooth as butter

a nice little tid bit of info for someone rebuilding a bp. put the little tabs/cutouts on the conecting rod and cap on the same side
