Im freezing in detroit...my mechanic...after 3 weeks found out the problem...a bad relay...ford part number fobz12a646a....also says pye 615.....he cant find it anywhere new or used....he says its next to the windshield washer...(top part of the tank i imagine)...he got the car to start by bypassing this relay....any ideas out there? i suspect any 90-93 part will work....sam

I replaced the ECU in mine a couple of years ago and it made no difference. But, because it's an electrical part, it could not be returned and I ate the $400.00 charge for a new ECU. BE SURE you have an ECU problem before you decide to replace it.1990 L-Plus, 5-spd, Flamed Festiva.

Seriously...any decent mechanic should be able to figure this out (interghangability) or have the skill to retrofit an aftermarket relay.Joe Lutz

I also suspect but can't prove a EFI '89 might work as well!
So gives you a larger range to try an hunt down a replacement!'93 Blue 5spd 230K(down for clutch and overall maintanence)
