Recently, doing about 90, I had to slam on the brakes. At the next exit, smoke from the calipers, and under the hood. Old M/C with not a tight seal on the res. + panic brake = boiling brake fluid  = fluid loss :x

^^between the M/C and reservoir...do you mean boiling or bubbling?

ok got it figured out. The car was soaked at first so i didnt notice, but the pssgr caliper was leaking... and the rim was covered in brake fluid. replaced it... bled everything.. m/c.. all hubs.. untill we had new clear fluid everywhere...

brakes still suck. lots of pedal travel and its hard to stop the car.

one thing i notice is when im gradually slowing down, and i got 1 foot on the brake and 1 foot on the clutch, slowly downshifting and gradually brakeing. when i start letting the clutch out and the revs raise, the brake pedal drops

Hummm...when the downshift takes affect, the engine absorbs alot of the braking (decel) forces...the pedal force will be reduced but the pedal should not 'drop' to the floor.

When the rpm's increase during a downshift....so does the vacuum....I would start to attack the vaccum side of the circuit.

In a safe place...remove and plug the vacuum line going to the booster...try the downshift scenario..see if the pedal still drops out..if not, the problem is between the end of the plugged hose and the M/C. If the pedal still drops...I don't know.

Quote from Stefan: So ive slowly been loosing brake fluid
Quote from jglutz: Dude.....has nothing to do with the loss of fluid.

                DUH!! Did I misinterpret?

Quote from Stefan: This morning i had zero brake pedal
Quote from Clev: As far as no pedal, I had that problem on my E-150 and finally realized that the Master Cylinder had an 'adjustable post' that would screw out to increase pedal, and screw in to reduce it.
