Hey all, I have a brake line that rusted a hole in it, anyone in the Lancaster that could help me out? I think I might have to go to the junkyard on this one

Up this way(PA,NY, IN, OH, ect) the front hard lines from the master cylinder to the flex lines rust through where they pass from the engine compartment into the fender wells.
Best bet is to bend your own or get a set (you need to replace the other side ASAP too) from a member further south where salt/sand/cinders aren't used on a regular basis.
Had the same thing happen to my wifes car.
FYI - be prepared for long job concerning the driverside front hard line replacement, as it threads it way behind the fuel filter on the EFI engines.'93 Blue 5spd 230K(down for clutch and overall maintanence)

It's probably easier just to bend a new set. When we installed my air suspension setup, we ran new hard lines because of the modifications that needed to be done to the strut towers. The line can be had for pretty cheap and it's easier than using a JY setup.Simon - pimptiva.comComment

Make sure you use a tubing bender so as not to kink the line if you choose to bend your own.

First time I did this, I bought a little extra line, and practiced bending by hand, it CAN be done, but a bender is oh so much better.
How about braided brake line? Flexible, no bending needed, think that might work? I have always wondered, then went ahead with hard line, perhaps slapping together a sort of hybrid, part hard line, part braided, tie it down real good so it cannot flex? hmmmm, I wouldn't recommend it here, but maybe I will try that one day...Contact me for information about Festiva Madness!
