could be ecu when my alt went it spiked and blew my ecu, radio, drl module, and headlights. I did some searching and apperently it will blow whatever is on at the time it spikes. I have been a Ford tech for 23 years and have only seen this 3 times. But might be your problem. Ceck your power outputs to your injectors for power that is usually a good indication.Anything for a Festiva:thumbup::thumbright:

my alternator full fielded and the voltage spiked and fried my ecu i had it bp swaped and used the escort harness and didnt wire in a fuse. i still had the festiva ecu in and it burnt up as well it didnt burn the fuse link either but still burnt the stock ecu. did you smell electrical burning? my radio worked and it still cranked but no start.Last edited by ketchup; 09-25-2008, 12:35 AM.YOU WILL HEINZ 57!!!!

can you short the starter motor and get it to crank? I forget right now how to wire it up but when I check the compression I clip a remote starter button to the starter so I don't have to be in the car to crank it over.Original owner of silver grey carburetted 1989 Festiva. 105k km as of June 2006. 140k km as of June 2021.
