  • What in the heck is this?!

When looking at the motor from the front of the car....the part on the right side of the air cleaner.....that the 2 90 degree hoses go to. What is that?!

I took the side panel off that the hoses go to. On the left side theres a pile of broken up crap and on the right side theres a P-Nut.....could this cause problems? ha.....Also, should I clean the 2 filter looking things that go there? And the hose that comes from the valve cover to the air cleaner....that little filter there is drenched in oil. Does anyone sell replacements? Is it supposed to have oil all over it? Sorry for all the questions!

its like an air pump egr thing emissions crap, cat over temp protection, one goes to the exhaust into the cat and the other i think goes to the exhaust manifold. if you unhook em you can hear the exhaust sounds throaty. i ripped mine off and plugged them. i didnt notice a difference. but i would just get some air cleaner foam and replace the filter and clean it.

whoa!!! that's your pulse A.I.R. box. it feeds extra O2 to your cat so that the second stage works properly. it's for emissions and unless you remove the cat, removing those hoses will destroy the cat and cause the engine to run like CRAP.

Ketchup, you better put that stuff back on or remove the cat. if not, you'll regret it later.

I use the air cleaner foam that lawn mowers use. Just use a knife or scissors to cut a piece out. There is enough to make many of them.

So could the pile of crap in one side and p-nut in the other of that piece on the side of the air cleaner cause any problems?

if you can post pics pointing to the parts that you have questions about, i can help more effectivly.
