What do you call the socket you need for the head bolts. Guess I need to buy one. Its like the negative of a 12 point star.

Torque bit ?? A 13mm six point fits over it tight. Almost works. I use an extractor to get one out to take to the tool store. Also, are the bolts reuseable ?Last edited by freshtiva; 10-05-2008, 10:30 PM.sigpic

They're just 12 point bolts, nothing special. Should be a 12-pt 12mm, IIRC.Jim DeAngelis

Just as Jim stated Marcus, the 12mm 12 point is what's called for. I just put some new valve stem seals on my B6 and checked the torque on my head bolts while I had the valve cover off.90 Festiva with Brand new B3, 5spd

That was the ticket I feel dumb now. A good reason why you should flush out your cooling system once in a while. Not my motor BTW.
