Check for any pinched wires - maybe around the altermator or battery area. Any loose connections anywhere? If you are loosing spark - thats what you need to be looking at. Starter is not going to make it shut off while driving unless it is staying engaged and in that case it would have burned up by now. When it acts up you need to find out what you are loosing, 1 - spark, 2 - fuel, 3 - timing. Then got down that path..

I'd go back to what I lasted posted you to do. It's free. Eliminate a few things so people can help you. You seem to be using alot of jy parts. Maybe the parts you are using are the reason the cars you got the parts off are in the jy. Pull the battery. Pull the alternator. And pull the ignition module. Take all three to your local McAutoParts Store and have them tested. Once those things are proven to be working, people, then, can begin to diagnose your problems. If you expect people to help you when you won't do a couple minor tests, then you're probably mistaken. The key to fixing your ride is to eliminate things and narrow the options down. IMO, there are to many variables. But then again, maybe next month you can ask the same question again.ENFORCER - Midwest Festiva Inc., Iowa

if the regulator is bad, you'll have fone of two conditions: with car running, all you see is batt voltage at terminals, OR with car running, you see 16 or more volts at the terminals (alt full fielding (bad)). in either case, you should still have spark available.Trees aren't kind to me...

I would recommend getting a NEW coil and ignition module. If these don't work, I would start suspecting the engine control computer behind the dash on the driver's side may be acting up. Just a thought.http://www.cardomain.com/id/hawkdoc60

Check for parasitic draw. Possibility of bad/leaky diode. Possibility of relay stuck on "on".
Try some voltage drop tests for the starter and charging systems.
Never just start replacing parts, anyone useless can do that, what terrible "advice".....
...Unless you got a Peter to pay Paul, just to check; don't waste money on new expensive parts when it is something simple, am I wrong?Last edited by Jasin; 01-10-2009, 08:55 AM.
