On my 88 carbed, when mine clicks, it sounds like a relay, my idle drops. Only happens on cold starts. In 80 to 90 degree weather, it clicks within a quarter of a mile of driving. 50 to 80 degrees, about one mile. Below 50 and lower any where from one mile to a mile and a half.
I believe it has something to do with the choke.1960 willys pickup

it is the h300 relay under the dash which controls the electric choke i believe.i removed it and it ran fine, took it apart and the wire was broken inside.now i'm not sure if the choke is bad as well, i still need to check that out too.but it runs great right now without the ralay.and it was around 40 degrees this morning when i started it.not sure how it will be when it gets really cold, but i'm replacing it anyway.so the click was definatly that relay, and it would kill the engine every time unless i was on the gas.
