Just bought a 1990 L. I'm having some electrical issues with it: sometimes the wipers/washer work and sometimes not. The column stalk is very floppy. Also, I have the same problem with the heater fan, and at the same time--if I don't have wipers, I don't have the fan. If I do have wipers, I also have the fan. I'm thinking there is a common ground that is shaky. Anyone else have experience with this? Thanks.

Sometimes my wipers don't come on. I have to jiggle the key in the ignition until they do. Putting a few drops of oil into the keyhole seems to cure the problem for a year or so.Original owner of silver grey carburetted 1989 Festiva. 105k km as of June 2006. 140k km as of June 2021. -

Actually not the car, but my head, thanx to WmWatt's advice. Yep, that was it; seems that a weak spot in these cars is the ignition switch. But now I am armed with knowledge...

that is "normal" for these cars. vents are fresh air only.Trees aren't kind to me...
