I just thought i'd save you some trouble next time you want to remove the hub. They make a tool called a tuning fork that you use to go around the bolt and it splits the balljoint away from the arm and also for tie rod end. It is a very handy tool. I'm sending pictures. Will come handy when working on cars. If im reading you right, you cant get the ball joint bolt all way out. Try putting a bottle jack under the arm and drive the ball joint bolt out with a punch.. But like they said, a pic of what your trying to do would help. Or are you having trouble getting it off cv shaft. If its the cv shaft, you have to have it off ball joint also.Last edited by milehighbear; 12-28-2008, 07:07 PM.

nope, once you have the balljoint loose, just remove the nut on the swaybar along with the washer and bushing, and CAREFULY!!!!! remove the control arm bolt that ataches to the frame. i suggest you soak it w. PB blaster for the next 2 days and when you're ready to remove that bolt, there's an access hole on the back side where the nut sits, hit that area w/ a propane torche or the like. should be easy to remove then.Trees aren't kind to me...

not all the time if your careful, but his rubber is already busted and he's getting new parts. I have used it very carefully and not broken the rubber. Spray some lube on it before you do it and it helps to not break the rubber.Last edited by milehighbear; 12-28-2008, 07:56 PM.

You did try to wedge open the pinch bolt slot on the hub assembly with a chisel or something, right? We've had some "fun" with those as well. Tuning Fork? Hmmm.... I always heard it referred to as a "pickle fork". Go figure!
