knocking a little

i have a 90 L-plus my cars engine has decided to start knocking. the knocking gets faster when i accelerate and just wondering what it might be from. the oil looks fine from the dip stick ( no shiny metal parts or anything but have not drained yet tho)

just to make sure i would drain it, and go threw the used oil with a magnet. i usually remove the filterand cut it open when i suspect problems like this! keep us posted

one of your journals could have a problem but you should deffinently stop driving it because you could crack your piston skirt if you keep on driving it and if its piston slap... then if it is and you do break you skirt well then it goes down into the lower part of you engine and causes even more damage

Is it a thudding knock or low octane fuel/timing adjustment knock? I would check timing, too. It may not hurt to put premium in it for a fill up or two. If it is a low thudding knock, you have teardown issues.
