  • how to check cel codes

Is there any way to check the ecu codes? Like on the escorts, and hondas i could use a paper clip to jump the connection and the check engine light would flash out the codes. Im wondering how to do this on my festiva. thanks

Help us out. What year Festy? Fuel injection or carbed? Where are you located (put this in your profile)? If fuel injection go to the search engine at the top right of the tool bar and key in "Trouble Codes". I put a detailed explanation there a few weeks back. Search is your friend

unless you're looking at the right page, they aren't that hard to read:
Post your Festiva or Aspire repair and maintenance issues. - USE THIS FORUM FOR ANY TECHNICAL RELATED POST (IE. How do I change my oil?, How to remove axle from tranny?, etc)

You guys are killing me:p Just so you know where the sarcasm is coming from we have people asking the same questions on here all the time and we answer them over and over again. Usually the questions come from the new guys and we harrass the snot out of them until they use the search tool. That one tool has been of more use to me than anything in my tool box. If you've done a search and can't find what you need then post. In your post note that you've done the search and couldn't find what you're looking for. You will find quickly this is the BEST bunch of folks when it comes to real help.

it says on the post that was previously made that its "trouble codes"

its not a trouble code its a CEL code. maybe the old post should be the right term and then the search will be accurate eh??
