I'm wanting to rebuild my 1.3. I just looked at a new crate engine on ebay for $1,899 including shipping. Is that a decent deal, or can I get by cheaper rebuilding my existing motor?

Not trying to dissuade you, because it would be quicker to drop a crate engine into a fester.
But for that kind of money, you could buy a couple of B3's or B6's and rebuild them and have cash left over!'93 Blue 5spd 230K(down for clutch and overall maintanence)

Every car I have owned has had a turbo in it, until I bought this latest festiva.. I plan to fix that though.
