check the codes through check engine light
before checking your timing, which you will need to be able to start your car to check!!!!

cam timing is a physical check, do it with the upper cover off.

fuel pressure is...? should be around 36psi

are you forgetting about the air side of the equation?

          air + fuel + spark = fire

            if there's compression, there's air

ignition control module? take it out and get it tested for free at some auto parts stores.

                      Hmmmm...what's the original problem?

Timming? Just beacuse you have spark does not mean it's at the right time....then again....just off a little bit should create some backfire.

Maybe to much or to little air...if this is the case...for an FI...at least it should start but not stay running.

make sure your cam is on the compression stroke when cyl 1 is at TDC and double check your rotor position on the distro. once all this is confirmed and you can verify good spark and injectors are actually flowing fuel, the car should run barring any ECM problems.

I would double check evrey thing.
If you have fuel and spark and as Festyboy most correctly said where there is compression there is air...the car should start...if the timing is off the car will run like dung but still run.
