hey whats a good belt to buy i got one from napa about 1000 miles ago and it sqweels like crazy

i'd first check that it has the proper tension..

it had great tension but after about a month or so it gets this really bad skweel right when it starts up i try to rev it away and it eventually works but i just wanna know whats a good aftermarket belt to get for itFrankie

I'd say a NAPA belt is OK. Make sure the pulleys are clean and oil free before you install a new belt.Comment

Every time I change a belt I clean all of the V-grooves with a little solvent (laquer thinner) and Scocth-Brit. If it's the belt...it is because it glazed...because the tension was insufficient or a bearing went bad....maybe to much tension.Joe Lutz

It's pretty normal to have to re-tenion a new belt after a little while. They stretch a bit and loosen up. You will most likely be fine now for quite a while. It most likely isn't a belt brand issue.Comment
