i'd first check that it has the proper tension..

-"Hairlipstiva" 1991 GL 5spd (swapped from an auto), rolling on Enkei 14x6 +38 with 195/45/14 Toyo's, Jensen MP5720 CD deck, tach install, LED strip in cluster, down position rear wiper, FMS springs, Gabriel shocks on 4 corners, Acura Integra short shifter

I'd say a NAPA belt is OK. Make sure the pulleys are clean and oil free before you install a new belt.

            Bingo!

I've always used NAPA or CarQuest belts without incident.
Every time I change a belt I clean all of the V-grooves with a little solvent (laquer thinner) and Scocth-Brit. If it's the belt...it is because it glazed...because the tension was insufficient or a bearing went bad....maybe to much tension.

It's pretty normal to have to re-tenion a new belt after a little while. They stretch a bit and loosen up. You will most likely be fine now for quite a while. It most likely isn't a belt brand issue.

A belt of Jack Danials once in a while works too.
