Sounds like a hyd. lifter didn't pump up after the oil change.

You need to have your oil pressure checked. It sounds like valve tick. If oil presuure is good, the valve lash may need adjustment.

Back when I still had the b3 and I had a lifter stick, I got some Marvel Mystery Oil (comes in a red bottle) from the parts store. There are lots of other similar products out there that do the same thing. I let the engine idle for a while and get hot and eventually it cleared itself up. Make sure you don't overfill the crankcase too much and change the oil again when its done. If that doesnt help then you may need to get a new HLA (hydraulic lash adjuster)- long for lifter

alright thankyou i will check that stuff out,but i am really worried its a head or something thats going to cost alot of money, also it sounds like its coming from the timing belt/pulley system area,i drove it about 25 miles yesterday and it runs fine like normal but just a really loud ticking , would driving a few miles to work for a couple days cause damage cuz i am really need it to get to work and back until i solve this problem
          thanks everyone

BEFORE you go adding things to the oil etc.... and looking at buying parts you really should run the car by someone that can physically listen to it and ask their opinion.

Not naming any names but another from this forum had similiar noises and started doing all sorts of stuff to the lifters and what not, after spending a good chunk of change he brought it by and I helped fix an exhaust leak at the manifold to head. Alot to be said when you can actually see and hear something before telling whats wrong.

Are we sure this engine has lifters?

Most imprtant think would be to determine if the tick is top side or bottom of the engine.

well if it's not an EFI car, then it's an LX w/ mechanical lifters (adjustable).
