  • festiva and aspire cv axle

I swapped out the front and rear hubs from an aspire into my festy but now the driver's side cv axle is popping out of tranny like it's not long enough - wondering if an aspire cv is longer than a festy? any help would be sweet thanx

Make sure the axle is seated in the trans all the way. You didnt swap the lower control arms too did you? that would space out the hub too far.

Post up your location too. Nice to know where everyone is from. A 'stiva guru could live nearby and be of help in situations like this.

I'm in alberta canada, I never swapped the lower control arm out , I'm gonna try to just smash it back into the tranny and hope it doesn't keep happening - I put some of those cheap spring adjusters in the front I'm thinking maybe that did it

mine did the same thing. Pull it out again, (i know, a big pita), and then play with the clip a little to make it work better. And check your seals too, mine became torn and i had to get a new one and wait a week to get back at it

absolutely - I've changed the front spindles and rotors and calipers from an aspire - it's basically a direct unbolt and bolt in the aspire ones , but the rear drums and rear spindles are a little more work - i had to just drill new holes in the backing plate of the aspire rear spindles - anyone with a little backyard mechanic skills can do it - I'm just having issues with stupid cv axles poppin out but i think it's the clip like "knux511" says above - that's probably what it is though cause I've put like 80,000 kms on the aspire spindles etc. and it just started doing this.
