  • rear wheel cylinder fitting leaking

I just changed by rear wheel cylinder (along with front axles and emergency brake) and a very slow leak started at the fitting. . I redid the fitting and bleed the brakes again and still the fitting leaked. I just want to pass inspection so that I can do my aspire swap sometime this month. Would teflon tape work to stop the fitting from leaking?
I know that I put the fitting in straight. I plan on change the lines with the swap....I'm tired of borrowing another car to get back and forth from work.

    Any suggestions??

Teflon tape won't stop your leak. A flare fitting seals at the flare and the seat, not the threads.

You can re-flare the line, replace the line and/or replace the seat in the wheel cylinder.

Sometimes, tightening and loosening the line several times will stop a leak also.

You're right.....I loosend and tighted the fitting acouple of times after I got back up ( the joys of working third shift ) and it sealed and passed inspection.

      Thank You...
