Yes, rod screws into the center of the square piece. Trying to think if I have any of the little surround pieces. Know I didn't pick any up today, but thinking I might have one that I grabbed last time. Not sure tho, without pulling the rod all the way out, if you can get enough slack to screw the square piece on the end of it.

Hmmm so I would need to disconnect the plastic clip that is inside the door so I could pull the rod out then screw the square piece on?

Batstiva can you see if you have the square door pull & surround & if you do give me a price to send it to me? I want to try & see if I can disconnect the assembly and get the square thing in/on the door.

I see the pic now and can probably fix you up tomorrow if batstiva doesnt have dibs. Id call the little trim piece around the lock a bezel for lack of a better word. BTW the little square thing will slide right over the lock you wont have to disconnect the assembly.

Fresh, if you know you have what she needs, go ahead and do it. I'd have to look and I'm not sure if I have the trim piece or not.

That would be lovely if you have both pieces. I will await your reply. If you do have it can you explain how you unscrew the square piece from the rod without having to disasemble/remove the rod from the whole locking mechanism/assembly?

Pulled this off this morning before 6:30 am. Wasnt even that light out yet. I can almost do this blindfolded anymore. The trim bezel is for a GL or L Plus and is different than the L bezel.

Hmm granted I am looking at this on my phone it sure looks like mine but I don't think I have an L plus..I have just an L. I need to search to see if I can confirm this. But if I have an L I assume this won't work on my car, right?

From your pic you have either a L Plus or a GL.

Or she's like me, and added the door pads to an L.
