  • a/c question bout my festy

i got some questions about some problems i have with my festy and wanted to ask you guys what you though and maybe we can fix it ... to start with my a/c ... it looks like it was not professionally installed ... however the air is cold but the fan will not blow ... when i have the a/c button pressed in and i go to turn the fan on .. my car will lose rpms ... almost to a stall but nothing blows out the a/c vents or even sounds like anything will blow ... and it turns my fan on and when i turn the a/c fan switch back to the off position the radiator fan stops spinning and the rpms go back to normal ... and i know the air is cold because if you sit there long enough you can feel cold air barely coming out... what could be the cause of this?i have attached some files showing some of the wires...and a pic of my car since i haven't posted any yet hehe.

this relay is on the passenger side at the back corner

this relay is behind the driver side headlight with the connections underneath

this is a picture of one of the wires going from the relay behind the headlight (dr side) to something i don't know what it is ... sorry i am not very mechanically inclined.

this is a picture of what i think is the compressor ... not sure...but one of the wires from the pass side relay is connected to it ... i couldn't see the connection very well as it is dark and the angle i had to look at it with the flashlight

this picture is the tstat in the car .. .or a/c controls whatever u wanna call it lol

this would be a picture of my festy in the dark ... it is really teal not dark blue ... there are some dings but pretty decent condition other than that .. tis a 93 5spd if that matters

any help will be greatly appreciated ...

another question would be how would i go about getting the dings out?

    thanks travis

ps... also when i turn the a/c fan switch on when the rpms drop the car sounds really rough and shakes a bit

Simple question. Does your blower fan work in the "heater" position?

no ... i have moved all the controls around and no matter what combo i use the blower fan will not run

      thanks for your reply

Do you have power in/out of your blower switch?

i am going to assume i do seems how when i turn the blower switch on it turns the radiator fan on

and if i only have the key to acc instead of all the way on i can hear a buzzing sound coming from the switch when i turn the switch on

Have you checked fuses for the heater controls?

if the fuses you are talking about are in the fuse box compartment by the steering wheel then yes i checked ... if they are somewhere else then no i have not checked and don't know where they would be

i was driving my car last night and when i was stopped at a red light i decided to see what happens while i am driving at night and turn the a/c on ... my lights and dash lights dimmed way down low so i almost couldn't see my dash lights and it just seemed that i lost a lot of power ... and when i was driving down the road and turned it on the lights stayed the same while i was in 5th going about 45 mph but i did feel a lil power loss in the engine while i was driving ... just not as noticeable as when i was at the stop light ... maybe that could help ??? or maybe it is just cuz it is trying to use power i don't know

                thanks
