  • Passive Restraint System

I have an Idea what it is but I want to bounce it off you guys.

When Driving down the road the drivers seat belt moves like it started to retract and then came back to lock, actual movement is about a 1/4th of an inch

My first thought is door switch because there are times when you open the door and the belt does not retract for several seconds or not at all - and sometimes if you shut the door and open it again the belt works correctly.

I'm leaning away from motor since the actual movement is fine, could it be the seatbelt controller? The passenger side does not move once its in place. My seatbelt light has come on and stayed on durring opperation since this started.

Neither one of my belts reel themselves in. If I don't want them laying on the floor or hanging out the door, I have to manually stuff them back into the side panel. Minor set back, but hey, its 20 years old, and worn out I suppose.
The normal is not always normal... MOST is not ALL... And any job can be hard if you don't have the right tools!!!
