this makes me wonder about your torque converter

what does the torque converter have to do with it running while it is parked and hitting the gas? It stalls while in park.

I've seen it before bad torque converter makes the car stall - hooking up instead of slipping I guess - The boss worked on that car not me but I remember it was the torque converter

Seems rather unlikely, but it would be worth putting the car in neutral to try. Reminds me how much I hate hydraulic clutches when the master cylinder goes out and you can't find the problem.

this IS a possibility, BUT, it's rather unlikely due to the fact that the "condition" is intermitant. typicaly when a cat clogs, you loose your top end no matter what gear you're in, then as it gets worse, you become limited to 25 mph or less. the differance is a cloged cat will idle just fine but act like a rev limiter if you try to rev the engine.

OK...I still have not had it looked at and the problem is still there.I think I should take it to Ford, but, you all might have a better idea ? Any REAL mechanics close to me to take it to ? I need it fixed only because it is moms and she wants to take it to Florida next month. If it were mine , well, I wouldn't be so pressed about it.
Maybe I should tow it to Ohiostiva next week...???I can.

If it were me i would loosen the radiator brackets at the top. Unclip the wiring harness that is under the top of the radiator support that runs over to the VAF meter.

There are 7 wires in that bundle (all black in color), one of them is a shielded wire if there is a fray in the outside layer and it has rubbed through grounding out on the car that could give you your stalling problem. It may have a bare spot on it and it is getting interference from another wire. That is my assumption since everyone has listed everything else.

So just look the wiring over before your swap an entire intake manifold to find out that the problem is still there.
