He said the old ones were about to fall off, but it didn't look to me like the balls would have gotten out; maybe coulda gotten more life out of them with some grease and duct tape (the rubber covers had rotted away).

Just got back from the inspection place, so they could verify the LCA repair so I could get my inspection sticker. The guy who checked it out (Seth) noticed that the motor didn't sound stock; His eyes about jumped out of his head when he saw the Escort GT motor! :-) Showed him the fordfestiva.com sticker on the back window; I think he'll be looking in on us...90 Festy (Larry)--B6M (Matt D. modified B6 head), header, 5-speed, Capri XR2 front brakes, many other little mods
