  • How do you tell if your struts are good ?

While I take these festivas apart,I want to save good struts and springs, but,I don't want to save junk. So,how do I tell if one is good or not ?

a good strut will expand back once it has been compressed, if it doesn;t move or falls into the tube, then it's bad.

Most have some "bounce" to them, but,is there too much to look for ?

3 bounce maximum from the point you stop pushing is the general rule of thumb, but in reality, anything over 2 in our cars is a dead strut.

What you do is you push down on the corner of the car and let it go it should bounce up then down and up again and be done. any more than that and it is no good. At least that is what I learned in shop class.

1993 Festiva L, aspire swapped, selling parts for a BP+T build.
