Anyone know where I can buy a new replacement boot/bellows for the driver's side of the rack & pinion? Anyone use one off another kind of car or have any past successes?

I just did mine on the new Stiva. Got my boots from NAPA. Think they were a bit more actually than FMS. I also think the ones on FMS might be better quality. Mine had zip ties to hold them in place. But they work better than the shredded ones that were on the car.Last edited by batstiva; 09-09-2009, 08:17 PM.

Do a search here. I posted a part # for a universal one that's available at autozone and I used them on my car and they worked very well.

Thanks, I would do the FMS ones except I need to get it fixed this weekend and don't have the time to wait for shipping. I'll check out the universal Autozone one. As a last resort, I'll stick a piece of bicycle innertube over it and zip-tie it until I can get a decent one.Brian

I had replaced my left boot earlier. Got the overpriced universal "HELP" boot at Autozone for right side as that boot shredded. Wasnt impressed. I made it fit but the big end was a struggle as its just slightly too small. Put the plastic ties that come with boot in your junk drawer for something else, they are nearly worthless for holding on boot. I got $1 pkg of like 10 cheap narrow metal hose clamps at some dollar store type place. Just hooked two together (screw tail end of one into the head of the other, etc) to make one long enough. Wouldnt trust them on hoses or anything under pressure, but work great for dust boots.Last edited by Banana Bonanza; 09-10-2009, 04:52 AM.

Just an update on the boots That I ordered from ebay. The link is a few posts ^. I got the old boots off and compared them to the new ones. They are very close to the same. The large diameter hole that goes on the rack was slightly bigger. They came with light duty nylon zip ties to replace original the metal wire twist clamps. I had some heavy duty electricians nylon ties in the garage. I used those because they get a lot tighter. I re-used the outer boot clamp it was a bit tricky to get on but its possible.'89L 110k mi.
