oooo just emptied the tranny fluid and I'd (embarassing) say there was only about a liter in there instead of the two and a half. Could that prevent the gears from engaging? Thanks guys.

Yeah if it is broken off inside there. On top of that if you ran it pretty dry, the trans maybe shot. I don't know though i have ran on without fluid around the block and had no problems. Someone actually drained the trans for meLast edited by festivaWES; 09-15-2009, 06:51 PM.---------------------------------------------------

^ I think you're right. I filled the tranny fluid back up and tried, it turned the hubs a bit, but that was it. There's no feeling in the shifter again. I plan to pull the tranny tomorrow. At least I'll get one in that shouldn't leak, and put new seals in and find out the shape the clutch is in. Hopefully I don't have to replace it as this car will probably only serve me another year tops, at which point, Xiva, with a performance clutch should replace it.

haha I wish it went that easy...also wish I had internet right now...
Anyhow, I've got the tranny set up on the engine now. I installed a new clutch, and torqued the pressure plate back on while centering the clutch. I left the flywheel on (it looks fine). I've left it at that though, because I now have no clutch feel. I tried adjusting it, but I'm feeling quite certain it's something wrong in the installation. No, I didn't install the clutch backwards like I heard has been done. I'll note the tranny didn't slide in smoothly though. Just lookin to figure it out before I start pulling it off again...
