ok my gfs moms yellow festiva hasnt had a tun up or oil change in awhile like almost two years so i finaly bought every thing to make it run a little better. so i did the basic tune up and air cleaner new valve cover gasket and tb gasket i didnt do a fuel filter jsut yet but the car was missfiring for a long time so i thought i would have fixed it but it ran good for the first 5 mins then started it again so i was messing with it and number 4 is not firing but when i pull any other wire it sparks all round the bottom of the cap. so what do you guys thing ive got new wires and cap rotor and plugs so they shouldnt be bad.

Is this the same plug that was not firing before? Remove your cap again, and look at the contact point for the #4 wire. I have had faulty caps before that the contact point was loose or misaligned and the rotor broke the contact off. Let us know what you find. The normal is not always normal... MOST is not ALL... And any job can be hard if you don't have the right tools!!!
