  • Soo...what should i do?

Ok first im going to apologize first if i posted in the wrong section.
N second im sorry if its to long.
But anyway heres my story, today my buddy and i were driving around n he spotted this huge puddle in the mall parking lot and by puddle i mean LAKE. So he tells me to go through it i happily agree. First i just side swipe it to see how deep it was n we make it through with no problem. Then a truck sees us and just goes straight through it the long way. Not to be shown up i turn around and do the same with about 3 ft till freedom (dry pavement) my car just shuts off. So i try to start it n nothing. I get out wave over the truck n they push me out. Ok so i call my other friend n he pushes me with his festiva to the shop that i work at. We take the plugs n try to turn it over still nothing. Then we drop the oil n theres about a gallon of water mixed n with it. We added new oil n try starting it again. Finally water starts shooting out of the spark plug holes. We put the sparkplugs back in and while crossing my fingers i turned the key. It starts up! Rough but it started, then once it started running smoother all my happiness went away cause it sounded like something was knocking. So we hoist it up agian n drop the oil pan hoping for the best. But more bad news i ended up bending 2 rods.

So now i dont know what to do. Should i pay someone to tear it down n replace whats wrong or should i just find a used engine n drop it in? Or just find a beater for winter and just drop a b6t into my baby< id need some help though.

    Thanks for reading,
    Damian

      B6 upgrade!!!

and yeah, hydrolocking the engine tends to bend things.

in all reality though, you could just get a new bottom end (including the block) and swap everything over (B3 or B6).

Water pump/ thermostat/ timing belt/ all much easier with the engine out. And not that much. Worth it to know they won't go bad after the new engine is installed.
